Indiana authorities Wednesday announced that charges have now been filed in the 2012 cold case death of rural Sullivan County farmer Lowell Badger. The Indiana State Police said indictments were handed down by a grand jury charging 38 year old William Ray Grimes of Merom with Murder, Burglary and Conspiracy to Commit Murder-all Class 4 Indiana felonies. Grimes is currently serving a long prison sentence from another Sullivan County case. The 85 year old Badger, a retired farmer, was discovered dead at his Graysville-area home with the time of his killing believed to have occurred between December 7th and 8th 2012. A large safe and an LCD TV was taken from the Badger home. The case then went cold with authorities saying they received 275 tips and interviewed over 300 people as part of their investigation.
